Anyone tried the book of muscle?
I just couldnt bring myself to step up onto the bench at my gym. They wouldn't have been happy with that I suspect.
I would stick with the dumbells however. It will help your grip strength in later stages, even with regular deadlifts down the road.
As for the pushup hold, it starts out odd and somewhat easy, but that builds each phase, until you are holding yourself steady with one hand and opposite foot.
I thought it was a bit weird too, but down the road, I realized how much my balance had improved and how it helped with Stage 2 stuff. You definitely push up and hold, then lower not touching the ground and push up again and hold. As I remember it, I concentrated on putting my forehead to my fists and coming right back up.
Odd exercise I agree.
