Then you have a tabloid writer Rocky Van Durbin who just annoyed me and a crazy ass guy named Ray Strickland. And at the center of the story is Susan, her dead sister. I thought it was worth mentioning all of them because the way the story unfolds, each of them have their own voice within chapters and having a little cheat sheet might be helpful.

Loved that he was a pilot, that just added to his sexiness. Low Pressure is the title of a book that Bellamy has written. It was never her intention to cause any additional pain to those who have been affected, but it was her way of trying to let go of the demons that remained with her.

On Memorial Day, eighteen years ago not only did a tornado destroy a family picnic, it also marked the death of her sister Susan. Bellamy was only 12 when it happened but her need to remember and her need to know what really happened drives her to the publish this book which instantly throws her back to that very day.

The few things that Dent loved in his life were his red Corvette, his plane and Gall. When the publicity of Low Pressure draws attention to him and the things he loves, once again he finds himself answering the same questions that were asked of him 18 years ago.

But Dent decides to use this as a chance to finally get some answer and to clear his name. Dent wasn't the only one frustrated with this book. For some, having what happened 18 years ago resurface, meant only trouble.

Mean Streak. Slow Heat in Heaven.

Editorial Reviews From Booklist An author whose pseudonymous debut novel is an instant best-seller is revealed to be the survivor of a horrific family tragedy. It has a solidly constructed story, with just enough twists and turns to keep readers guessing; a strong and engaging protagonist; and some very effective writing. Brown is a proven entity, a big-name writer who reliably delivers the goods, and demand for this title should be high.

A good old-fashioned thriller and a winner I'm now wondering why I waited so long to enjoy this talented author's work. I highly recommend Brown's Low Pressure.

I bought this book after finishing another Sandra Brown book, Envy, which I loved. The main thing I liked about Envy was the likability of the characters. For some reason I never connected to the characters in this story. They seemed one-dimensional and boring.

I figured out who the killer was about halfway through the book, so there wasn't much suspense. I also found the sex scenes rather distasteful, but that might be because I just didn't care for the lead character and her weird intimacy issues. It seems like Sandra Brown likes to use the formulaic goody two-shoes shy girl and the bad boy as her romantic leads.

Low Pressure

It's predictable. But the book is an easy read, it moves at a good pace, and it held my attention enough to finish it. If you like Sandra Brown, you may enjoy it, but it's definitely not her best book. One of the finest storytellers in the business, Sandra Brown, builds tension from the very first page to the very end of Low Pressure.

See a Problem?

She delivers an exciting novel about a wealthy Texas family whose seventeen-year-old daughter is murdered at a Memorial Day company picnic in the midst of a tornado that killed nine other people. A young local boy last seen with her is eventually convicted of the crime, based only on circumstantial evidence, and sent to prison. Over the years there emerged credible rumors that the legal system might have convicted the wrong person. Some eighteen years after the murder, Bellamy, the younger daughter, now in her thirties, continued to have repressed memories of the tornado and the murder and constantly wondered if the real killer was still at large.

In an attempt to come to terms with these stressful memories, she wrote a New York Times best-selling novel titled Low Pressure based on the murder under the pseudonym, T.

Soon it was discovered that the author was not T. David but the younger sister of the slain girl, Bellamy Lyston Price. This discovery not only lent more intrigue to the rumors but doubled book sales. However, the disclosure also focused a spotlight on those who were involved from the district attorney and chief homicide detective to the boyfriend, flyboy Denton Carter, and all members of the Lyston family.

Low Pressure, with its intrigue, sex, brutality and surprises, will keep you turning pages well into the night. I could not guess the murderer until the end.

I rate the novel a 5 out of 5. Eighteen years ago Bellamy Lyston Price was only 12 years old when she was involved in a family trauma from which she had never fully recovered.

The day started with a Memorial Day party staged by her parents at a local park and ended in tragedy when a Tornado struck the park and her elder sister Susan was found dead under a fallen tree. The real tragedy was that Susan had been killed before the storm struck. Denton Carter, Susan's boyfriend at the time of her death, had quarrelled with her that day.

Despite being the most probable suspect he is cleared by the police. Another boy at the party who had been chasing Susan was charged and convicted.

Bellamy suspects that the wrong person may have been found guilty of the murder. Eighteen years on Bellamy writes a "fictional" novel based on the murder in an attempt to reopen the case and find the murderer.

As her book becomes popular strange things happen and she realises that she has opened up things from the past that some people don't want exposed.

Surprisingly Dent gets drawn into the action and helps Bellamy to uncover the truth. This book shows why Sandra Brown is such a successful suspense novelist. The plot has many twists and turns and distractions and includes some enjoyable romantic tension between the Bellamy and Dent.

The only things that become clear before the ending is who didn't murder Susan. The mystery was mystifying and believable. The hero was heartwrenching.

The other character were All selfish, self absorbed and mean I really did Not see why the hero fell in love with her. As far as I could glean she wasn't at all lovable. I found it a challenge to finish the story because I was so totally fed up with our Berlin's selfishness and mean, Snotty attitude.

The story and the mystery were well written but this book is really only a 3. See all 1, reviews. Amazon Giveaway allows you to run promotional giveaways in order to create buzz, reward your audience, and attract new followers and customers.January - Low Pressure, by Sandra Brown.

I am not sure what his redeeming qualities would be. A Novel.

What is his motive and does he have anything to do with the threats? This was a miss for me, but Lethal was a complete hit. With his moral compass and urge to be a fierce protector, Dent won my heart pretty early on. Friend Reviews. Aug 24, Laylah rated it it was ok. In the end I was happy with where they landed.

Moreover, Bellamy becomes the target of an unnamed assailant who either wants the truth about Susan's murder to remain unknown or, even more threatening, is determined to get vengeance for a man wrongfully accused and punished.
