Google Play doesn't have a wide range of support for file formats out of the box. If it's not an ePub or PDF, you'll need to convert it. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to change formats , and you can even convert books purchased from other stores. Amazon also has an advantage if you prefer e-ink readers, in that you can sync books between your phone, tablet, or ereader. Play Books more or less guarantees you'll always be reading on a bright, light-emitting screen.

Aldiko has some great features for organizing and sorting your library. While you can search your collection in Play Books, Aldiko lets you tag certain books, or sort them into collections, so you can group them together in a way that makes sense. Because what's the fun of having a large collection of books if you can't organize them on a fancy shelf?

And, of course, there are the other bookstores including Amazon Kindle , Nook , and Kobo. In terms of reader features, Kindle stands out as one of the nicest and most feature-complete though the Android version lacks many excellent features like X-Ray. Library selection varies between companies, though manually adding books is a difficult, if not impossible process. This app really helps me avoid that, helps me read in groups of words, and improves my speed. I'm reading at a modest now, which isn't really something to brag about compared to the other reviews but I'm improving and honest about it.

I look to challenge myself on every now book I read.

I'm still on the first one but results look promising. Muy Recomendable. Takes some getting used to… by Vbits, Mexico, January 2, …but is spot on in helping to change bad reading habits improving one's ability to read in chunks. Love being able to save my own epubs into it or simply downloading from the vast online ebook repositories. I've been so frustrated as I enjoy reading, and there are so many books I want to read, but I'm so terribly slow!!!

App is very impressive because it gives you so many options — colors, font size, means of highlighting words, grouping of words, margins, and of course speed — so you can customize it to fit your particular reading needs. In only three days I've gone from to over wpm. Love it by BlackAce34, Canada, December 29, Great app improving reading speed and enjoying your ebooks. I especially enjoy seeing how long it will take to read a book at a certain wpm; it's like having a movie "run time" but for your books.

Fantastic job! Has opened up a whole new world of reading and skill development. Good app but has an annoying author naming bug by Dissapointed User , United Kingdom, December 26, I use Calibre and import books into Quickreader via iTunes and no matter which order I have Firstname or Secondname in within Calibre, some books are entered into Quickreader under Firstname rather than Secondname, this resulting in a single author having more than one catalogue.

Also needs to better know where chapters start and end because it currently and commonly flows one direct into the next without space between. Nonetheless, this is a very good app. The best by dualcosmos, South Korea, December 25, I've tried a lot of reader apps, and this is absolutely the best. At last, I can control every detail of the display.

Almost Perfect! Love this app! It's my 'go to' app for waiting in line. What could be better? Great by Noisha26, Australia, December 21, Learning to speed read is easy with this app , wish it were compatible with all ebooks! Good ap by Peregrin J, United States, December 15, I use it mainly as an ereader app for Gutenberg books, and it's great for that. Speed reading training seems great too, but I don't use it too much.

User Reviews

It works well and does not crash. And it handles several different text formats. Love it. Definitely worth the money. Recomendable by Gfyr9, Mexico, December 7, Muy buena, ampliamente recomendable.

This Qt eBook App for Linux is a Real Page Turner

Good by Raz, United Kingdom, December 7, Great app, really been enjoying improving my reading. Highly worth it if you are a slow reader like me. Great way to keep my reading skills sharp!

Just don't succeed to transfer from my calibre library.. Very well made. All the features are great. Excellent speed reading app. La consiglio a chiunque ami la lettura Well done, elegant app by Lundy, United States, November 21, One of the marks of a great app is simplicity within comprehensiveness.

You will be able to use this app within a few minutes and be able to start training shortly thereafter.

The ability to download public domain books easily is wonderful. Being able to paste text into the app allows you to use the interface to read work materials is great. Well worth it! Speed reading app! It is pushing my reading speeds higher and higher in a very engaging and fun way. If you want to read faster you have to push yourself.

If you're ready to do that then this is the program to get. I recommend it, is a very very good investment. Well done.

Super great app!

Now to keep practicing! I like being able to copy any article from the iPad, and buzz through it with hardly the reading energy and concentration it would take without the use of the App.

Top 3 on the favorites list. TRY IT!!! Excelente by Bubblypink! G, United Kingdom, November 12, Great speed reading training app. If it allowed to copy text, it would be perfect. Incredibly unique and well done app. The downside is that it does the speed reading thing so well that it seems to lack or make difficult other more basic features of an e-reader.

I could not figure out how to search within text, for instance, or copy text to paste to another app. I find myself having to switch back and forth between iBooks and this app for the simple stuff. That being said, the speed reading features are incredibly useful and I am very happy with this reader. E-xcellent by soaresjp, United States, November 8, Great to have quick access to so many amazing works of literature.

Good source of free books by Squeakusmaximus, United States, November 6, If you're looking for an app that trains your speed-reading AND integrates all the great free literature out there, this is it.

Scifi, fantasy, romance, mystery, it's all there. You might not even need to buy novels for a while. But what this can't do yet because I know the author is very responsive to feedback is read PDF files of your own choosing. This is due to the text-unfriendly format of PDFs anyway.

You might not like this, but there is no other app I know off that can do this. Oh, and the speed-reading technique here is legit. The app is highly worth it's value. Very flexible and feature rich. Can use for pleasure reading or to work on speeds. One of just a handful that make the tablet experience lastingly worthwhile for me. Truly a killer app. Here's something I've been looking for a long time by Teratzul, Spain, November 2, This app really teaches you what fast-reading programs teach you without making you look retarded on the subway using speed reading tools ie.

A pointer. I highly recommended. Easy to use, flexible, access to a zillion free books. The best. Y da gusto descargarse libros del Proyecto Gutemberg. Viatcheslav, Canada, October 28, An excellent app save one feature: some of the paste boards end up formatted poorly, which makes them less easy to read.

Other than that, the app is very useful.

I will recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their reading speed. It works! Great app by Snewzr, United States, October 25, I bought this to practice speed reading, and it does a great job at that.

But then i got lazy and now use it as a library of public domain works — classics, indie authors and even some well-known modern authors who have made their works accessible. I only wish there were a better way to search the book databases. But combine this vast book access with the ability to increase your reading speed, and you have enough challenge to last you for life!

Buenisimo by Andresssss22, Venezuela, October 25, Excelente para descargar libros! Very good!! Also love the ability to open calibre docs in other apps through quick's interface. You will read faster, like downloading text into your brain. You'll remember what you read and have bypassed those lapses in concentration that occur while normally reading; but at the expense of thoughtfulness.

This is not a negative, but a tradeoff of reading quickly: you'll have to make time to consider what you've read. Buy it if you'll use it. Or if you read at all and are willing to experiment. I use this app primarily with the pasteboard to copy text in from other programs. Just this functionality justifies this program's use to me.

Depois disso, e perfeito. Top of mind! Great app by S. The exercises plus the practice really work. My one complaint is that I was under the impression, based upon their advertisement, that I would be able to uses it with my iBooks. Upon closer inspection after I bought it , I realized I can use it with public domain books that double as iBooks, but nothing current.

Those were "weasel words. It helps a lot with reading speed, I have one thing to share with you. I can't import books from iBooks into the Quickreader Any suggestion.

Thanks Fox65 Perfect by NathsiPad, Canada, October 15, Since my favorite reading app no longer works, I have found this to be the perfect replacement and has improved my speed reading skills at the same time…. Altamente recomendable. Go Multi-lingual. Bookmark, highlight or note important and favourite portions of text from your eBook. Borrowing eBooks.

Borrow eBooks from many public libraries for use with Digital Editions. Downloading digital publications from libraries is very similar to buying eBooks online except for the payment process. File Organization of All eBooks. Organize your digital publications and manage devices with Adobe Digital Editions with options to create custom bookshelves sorted by title, author, and publisher.

Print your eBooks with Adobe Digital Editions. The application maintains fidelity with what you see on screen. Publishers may also opt for restricted printing.Great app by Kagechin, Singapore, January 17, This app have good integration with calibre.

Honestly, it blows kindle out of the water. It's not.

Thank you!

It's a really nice reader, but my two wishes to make this a 5-star app are: 1 ability to disable the iPhone status bar at the top of the screen. It's also useful to know the time remaining to the end of the chapter and book. How about speed reading our own documents and digital books?
